Clover Point Kite Flying

fig.1 delta stunt kite

Clover Point is the best place to fly kites around here - and it's only a 5-minute drive to get there, so it's handy!

.
So far we have 2 delta stunt kits (fig.1) and one 3-kite "kite train" stunt kite (fig.2)  All of our kites have 2 lines with straps or handles that you use to steer the kite around the sky - extremely FUN!  If you haven't tried a stunt kite, do yourself a favor and TRY IT - you will LOVE it!

Oh... and never touch the kite strings in high winds.  We've both tried it - with and without gloves - and it will cut you either way... trust us... we're foolish enough to know this stuff.

A Fun Fact about Love & a Game

  1. Both of these couples married in May 2000.

  2. Both couples used a self-timing digital camera to take their own picture as shown here.

  3. Both couples are sitting under the orca statue at the entrance to the Vancouver Aquarium.

  4. Both marriages are international and all pictured understand the immigration hassles that lay therein.

  5. One of these husbands wrote the #1 rated BBS door game of all time, called Legend of the Red Dragon, in his younger days. (right)

  6. The other couple both played the game quite a bit in their younger days, to say the least - and still run it on their Telnet BBS to this day, both straight up and IGM twisted.

heh.    =)

Shouts & congrats to Seth and Akiko!  (on the right)

PS. One thing we do NOT share in common is that the killer whale Bjossa did our hair (on the left) as you can see we got pretty drenched about half an hour before this picture was taken during Bjossa's last week at the Vancouver Aquarium, where whales in captivity all started nearly 40 years ago and where it is now ended, at least in Vancouver, as Bjossa was moved to San Diego's Sea World the week after our picture was taken.

Sooke Potholes

This is the area where Mark does his cliff diving.  If I have a momentary lapse of common sense and decide to accompany him to the cliffs this summer, I'll take some pictures, so you can see crazy Mark do his thing.

Mark snowboarded from the top of the quad lift quite a few times after spending most of the day on the bunny hill with SE
SE stuck to the bunny hill (literally)  and then enjoyed a thrilling and oh-so-speedy tube ride that was a lot of fun
