What kind of rules
do Regulars in
#25+friends follow?

The #1 Rule is: Have a sense of humor!
If you don't have one, install one here it's FREE!

What is a Regular anyway?
#25+friends regulars share a whole bunch
of qualities. Here are a few of the important
and nice ones:

  • Regulars are friendly to one and all and often answer questions and help newbies.  Learn more about how important it is to BE a friend here.

  • Regulars often have web pages, and spam the URLs frequently (grin) This is actually encouraged.

  • Regulars don't invite people to other channels while in #25+friends.  This is considered pretty rude to do, so don't do it.  To remember some other old time manors or just old times, check out this Remember When? page.

  • Regulars don't use language or actions that might be offensive to people in the chan that they do not know.  #25+friends has a well-deserved reputation for being a friendly channel. It also, however, is a channel full of intelligent and fun-loving people that enjoy a certain amount of smart ass behavior... not to say anyone is nasty, we just like to have fun and laugh. Regulars know that, and understand it, but don't unleash it on unsuspecting newbies without warning.

  • Regulars that have an interest in having their picture included on the pictures page of this website are encouraged to contact the channel admins by clicking here.

  • Some Regulars are often auto-voiced or OP'd by one of our BOTS or someone's script. These regulars have either been around forever, or they are just great ambassadors of the #25+friends philosophy. They didn't beg for this status, they simply earned it the old-fashioned way.

  • Regulars use abbreviations a lot.  You can learn a bunch of them by clicking here.

Some Channel Don'ts
(Stuff you can get kicked for doing repeatedly)

  • Private Messaging
Do NOT join the channel for the first time and private message anyone within a few seconds just to say "hi" - that is not private and nobody wants or needs a private discussion with a perfect stranger.  Try to get to know people in the group setting before you assume they have something private to say to you.

  • A/S/L
Similarly, do NOT join the channel and demand or even ask nicely a/s/l - why do you need the asl of perfect strangers?  Isn't it a bit rude not to spend a few minutes getting to know people before you jump to the conclusion that you need their asl?

  • Challenging Authority
Do NOT argue with OP decisions - they are not made lightly and they are not negotiable.  All of our OPs have years of experience and they are good and fair.  If I catch myself being unfair, I have actually traced people down and gone to say I'm sorry - so don't think even momentary lapses in fairness go unchecked.
