Where to camp - Alder Bay  What to expect - $6 launch fee for kayaks, about $20 for site, $2.50 for bag of ice, .25 /5 min hot water showers, coin laundry, beach tent/kayak sites can be very windy but back hill sites are a tad remote and close to bears.  Your call.  Mackay Whale Watching will pick you up right from the Alderbay docks, book in the office.
Odyssey Kayaking in Port Hardy will deliver kayaks to you (multiple day rentals but call and ask anyway, you never know) at Alder Bay free of charge and their rental rates are much lower than what you'll pay in Telegraph Cove, which is basically a tourist photo op for non-locals who don't know any better.
Speaking of BEARS, here's some info you should know before you go!  Very important, if you're going to camp or hike PLEASE READ THIS PAGE.
The Mackay famiy are great people to whale watch with if you don't have a kayak or just want to enjoy the trip with good people who treat you and the whales right.

Seriously world-renowned good guys
with, not to forget, a big fat finger in the pie
so even good guys need to be watched.

ShamuCam
Seriously bad guys own this camera, but some of the people that operate it are just not aware of what they're involved in.  Education is KEY to wild orca survival!
